The Edexcel BTEC Higher Nationals are designed to provide specialist work-related qualifications appropriate to the skills needs of a range of sectors at levels 4 and 5. Learners studying for Edexcel BTEC Higher Nationals in Computing and Systems Development will be expected to develop the following skills during the programme of study:

Edexcel BTec HND in Computing and System Development is also recognised by the the British Computer Society

Learners possessing an HNC/D Diploma in Computing and Systems Development and a number of years (usually between 3–5 years) of post HNC/D experience in the IT or computing industry are able to apply for ‘Associate Membership of the British Computer Society’.
