The Regent College University Foundation Programme is a three-term foundation course that allows
international students to gain a qualification that will allow them to continue their studies at a
British University.
The University Foundation Programme has been designed to bridge the gap between school and university
for students who do not possess the necessary A-level points or equivalent qualifications and is
designed with the unique needs of overseas students in mind. Successful completion of the University
Foundation Programme provides entry onto a choice of degree programmes at an extensive range of
prestigious British universities.
Our courses thoroughly prepare students for study at undergraduate level and provide them with a wide
range of general study skills, an introduction to academic English and a solid foundation in their
chosen specialty. The course offers an excellent transition in to the British Education system and
allows international students to acclimatise to both the country and the academic standards required
by their chosen Universities.
Courses also include preparation classes for the all important IELTS English Language Exam, in which
students are required to secure a level 6 or higher to enter a British University.
Accreditation
In addition to the College being accredited by the British Accreditation Council and the Council for Independent
Further Education, the University Foundation Programme is accreditied by the University of Middlesex.
The University approves the Syllabus and Course Materials and appoints a moderator to ensure the
rigorous standards of British Universities are met. As a result, the Regent College - London University
Foundation Programme is accepted by the vast majority of British Universities and Regent College -
London can gurantee a place at a British university to students that successfully complete the course.
The course is divided in to two sections. The first includes English Language courses and two other
modules designed to give students an opportunity to learn more about studying and living in the United
Kingdom. The second section allows students to choose one of three routes, Social Science, Science &
Engineering and Business & IT. In each of these routes, students choose four units from a choice of
three units specific to the student's chosen specialty, and two units which are common to all three
specialties. Most units are divided in to four modules that together offer a comprehensive foundation
in each subject.
