On Tuesday 7th November the staff and students at Regent Independent College had the privilege of welcoming Calum Foad from The Prime Agency. Calum performed a number of familiar songs for the students as well as delivering a drugs education message. The session lasted just under an hour and students participated in giving some descriptions on the harmful aspects of drugs on the body and overall health.
- The core substances discussed were alcohol, tobacco, and some of the illicit drugs. Calum included examples of how he made good life choices when he was offered these substances at school. He spoke about how these situations arose, his reaction and what he did, along with the risks and consequences of the situation. He also discussed the best ways to tackle peer pressure at school. The main message of the presentation was “to make the right decisions in life“, and “to live a healthy lifestyle.”
The students said that they enjoyed the presentation and found his talk on drugs both informative and informal. They enjoyed the fact that he was casual and fun! Many students were familiar with his songs and he sang one he had written himself. We look forward to hopefully seeing him on TV or hearing him on the radio in the future.
