| Unlock your potential at Regent College
Up and down the country, students and parents will be biting their nails in anxiety as that precious envelope, containing the results of years of hard work and the pathway to future dreams and aspirations, is placed into their hands.
Thursday 19th August 2010: A-level Results Day.
This is one of the most important days in a student’s life. Not only do these results represent hours of study and revision in themselves, but the results students obtain today will have consequences for their continuing education, whether this is their A2 study or their admission into university, and their prospects in the world of work.
Whilst many students achieve results that they are happy with, a significant proportion of students will be disappointed with their grades. With the tough economic climate and significant reduction in university places available, it is even more important than ever, to ensure that when they leave school or college, it is with results of which they can be proud.
Here at Regent College, a non-selective, co-educational, independent senior school and sixth form college, located in the leafy suburbs of Harrow, north-west London, we can help ensure students reach their full potential and leave with the grades they deserve. How?
- Regent College offers small class sizes with a maximum of twelve students and many of the classes being markedly smaller. This means every student gets the time and attention from the teacher that is needed to flourish.
- Regent College has highly experienced and qualified teachers including our Heads of Department who have a proven background in teaching and many of whom hold experience as examiners.
- Regent College closely monitors its students through our Tutor System and Supervised Study Programme. This means that concerns are noted and dealt with before they turn into problems.
- Regent College offers modern spacious facilities including a new library and sports court and well-equipped science and computer laboratories.
As well as offering the traditional secondary school programmes, Year 7 to A-Level, we also run A-level Intensive programmes designed to meet the needs of those students who have not achieved the results for which they had hoped. This year, due to demand, not only are we offering a one-year Intensive programme, but we are also offering a unique one-term programme for those students who only need to obtain a small increase in grades, allowing them to undertake travel or employment for the remainder of the academic year.
Here are two of many examples from last year that illustrate what a difference enrolment to Regent College can make coupled with focus and determination from the student.
- Rajan Pandya came to Regent College with grades of EEE. He left with AAB and went to City University to study Economics.
- Priya Patel came to us with grades of DDEU. She progressed to Nottingham University to study Accounting having obtained ABB at A2 and a B at AS.
