This time of the year is stressful for both students and parents. Television items and newspaper articles will focus upon A2 student moving on to university. However, for AS students there are also many pressures in the second week of August.

There are many reasons why a student does not perform well in their AS exams. It may be bad teaching, poor commitment from the student, illness, or mistakes in the choice of subjects. Also, students may find that, for various reasons, they do not adapt to the atmosphere of their sixth form college.

Regent College is the only college in Harrow to offer an A Level Intensive course in which students who have failed to reach their full potential for in their AS studies are able to complete their A Level studies within the usual two year timetable. The course is designed to build upon what has been learnt in the first year, but improving the AS grades so that students have realistic hopes of a good overall grade next summer.
