At Regent College, we want students to find their time with us as enjoyable and profitable as possible. We aim to provide the highest quality services and facilities to ensure that students gain every advantage in life. Our range of services and facilities includes: |
Pastoral Care
At Regent College we recognise the fact that the quality of Pastoral Care
influences the ethos and tone of the whole College.
We endeavour to create an atmosphere in which:
- All of our pupils feel secure;
- Know that they are valued as individuals; and
- Are encouraged in their learning and social development
in a healthy and safe environment.
Pastoral Care is the responsibility of all members
of the Staff both teaching and non-teaching, and at all times
at Regent College we will endeavour to create a climate which
is characterised by good relationships and mutual respect.
The Pastoral system works towards achieving the following aims:
- To empower students with the basic skills, experiences,
knowledge and attitudes that are required for work and leisure
in a rapidly developing society. The students should be prepared
so that they become active, confident, and responsible members
of society;
- To enable students to become progressively responsible for
their own, personal development and academic education; To
produce an atmosphere in which all students are confident
that they are well known, safe, respected and have progress
properly recorded;
- To contribute towards the maintenance of good behaviour
and an orderly atmosphere in the College which is conducive
to achieving the aims and ethos of the College and more specifically
to ensuring that students reach their true academic potential;
- To offer sympathetic, confidential and effective guidance
and counselling to the students as and when it is required;
- To contribute towards strengthening the links between Parents
and the College. We recognise that the education of the student
is a shared task involving positive contributions from Parents
/ Guardians, Students, and Teachers.
Careers Service
The Careers Service offers a free range of services including career counselling and advice. The Student Welfare Officer is always available to discuss progress and provide the information necessary for students to make the right decisions. There is a Careers Fair each year at which students get the opportunity to meet each others parents to discuss the world of work to further help them make the right choices. |

Individual Learning Plans
An Individual Learning Plan (ILP) is available for each student at Regent.
Students benefit from carefully compiled and effectively used ILPs. They are produced after a comprehensive initial assessment of students' potential and reflect genuine individual starting points for each learner. Plans include learning targets which are challenging but achievable. The subsequent training is well planned to meet students' individual needs. There are regular progress review meetings at which students' plans can be changed if appropriate.

UCAS Advisory Service
The completion of an attractive UCAS form is the second most important factor in securing a place at your chosen University, only behind exam results. The staff at Regent College can give you the benefit of their experience and advice in ensuring that you present yourself in the best possible light. Each student is advised on the selection of Universities and Courses and given as much help as they need on drafting their personal statement, something many students find a daunting prospect. At Regent College we are experts in the University admissions procedure and no effort is spared in helping the students fulfil their ambitions. |
Computer laboratories
The College also has fully equipped computer laboratories with
the most up to date hardware and software. Students have personal
access to the laboratories and can use the full range of software
we have available. In addition the laboratories are used to
word process student's assignments and provide fast monitored
access to the Internet and email.
Sports Facilities
At Regent College we understand the importance of balancing work commitments with other past times and encourage students to join our thriving sports teams. Six a side football is played year round and the matches against other Colleges from the David Game Educational group are always popular, as is the traditional staff - student match that follows the June examination session. For those that don’t follow football there is also the possibility to play for the cricket team or even to form a team of your own. |

Other Activities
At Regent College we assist students in pursuing any worthwhile
activity. The business-minded may choose to join Young Enterprise
and The Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme is also encouraged.
