A Level students visit Whipsnade Zoo
Seven A Level Biology students and Dr Harvey went to Whipsnade Zoo to complete field work for one of the required practicals. They met with a member of ZSL staff who led the Education session and two people from the conservation organisation that manage the Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) that they were investigating. They used quadrats to sample areas near and on the SSSI, linking study of biodiversity to conservation and management of such areas. After their Education session they had some free time to look at the animals in the zoo.
