Economics Students Attend London Conference
On 21st March the Upper Sixth Economics group from Regent Independent College attended their second conference this year at the City Temple near Chancery Lane. For only £22 each, the students had a full day of preparation and advice in technique for their examinations, given by experienced examiners and tailored to the requirements and expectations of their examination board, Edexcel. Each student also received a copy of My Revision Notes: Edexcel A Level Economics, published by the course organisers, Hodder Education.
The day began with a key note speech from Stephen D King, head of economics at HSBC, who “shamelessly promoted” (his words) his new book, Grave New World, a controversial look at the end of globalization and what it means for prosperity, peace, and the global economic order. His presentation was a glimpse for students of what the best university lectures are like: stimulating, erudite, thought-provoking.
