Regent Independent College launches Chess Club
Regent has recently launched a chess club. Regent Independent College’s Chess Club encourages students to enjoy playing chess. Whether you are a beginner or confident player we will find someone for you to play. You will get the chance to play different types of chess and to learn from others. We are also planning to run competitions, challenges and a Tournament in the summer term. It is a friendly club with members ranging from beginners to advanced players. All are welcome.
Chess is complicated and a highly skilled game;you have to concentrate andlearn to think ahead; you learn to plan and solve problems. All these things you can use to learn, but these skills are especially useful in mathematics, with respect to the recognition of patterns – diagonals, rows, columns, and coordinate systems. The only thing you then have to exercise is self-control.
